Can't be bothered with hogmanay...

Is it just me? It drives me nuts, everyone tries too hard- because it's Hogmanay, you've got to have a great time! You've got to get ****ed, you've got to have the best night of the year... I just realised I can't really be bothered going out tomorrow at all, I'm tempted to bump the party and stay home... Am I just a miserable old git?

I thought it was just me and my missus that felt like this:rolleyes: We tend to put a lot into a family Chritmas and recover over this period;)

Northy your drunk every weekend so whats the difference, so the only real difference is you don't like everyone one else being as drunk as you. it makes you less special or just one of the crowd... ;)

I love Hogmanay, I get to stay up late and drink with friends till the wee small hours... and i get kisses YIPPEEE!!!

Pretty much can't be airsed either. Every year I think - Give it a chance and every year everybody grins silly at each other and exchange greetings. It's so fake and put on.

We did have a nice surprise a few years ago, when a neighbour popped in after the bells and passed out some drink etc and we had a laugh. Other than that, the telly is crap and not worth staying up for.

So for tonight....... a good sleep or stay optimistic?

Hard choice.

Garry;)

When I grin silly and exchange greetings it's 100% genuine! Every time!

Granted if I was sober I'd probably tell the same person to F*** Off

This is our first year not doing anything. This year we'll be listening to a baby monitor, not party music. I'll be having a few single malts on the sofa though.

So here's a 100% genuine...... I really do hope you all have..... A happy new year and I wish you all the best for 2008

Col ;)

Now, now, come on! I've been alcohol free for a whole evening in preparation for tonight- which the way I've been hitting it is a miracle.:p

I'm already making the roast beef for the hangover tomorrow, and am off over to Tiger55s and Jillyburds for a good old knees up.:thumleft::p

It's always the best night if you start pf being megative about it, I bet you have a fabby one.

Northwind (and all you others out there who are not doing anything tonight).

Good On You.

We are not miserable old (or even young) Gits. It's not even a case of getting old. It's just a re-alignment of priorities. I would much rather spend my time in the house with my 2 great kids and partner and celebrate with them.

Hogmanay has become a night when people who you hardly see or speak to for the other 364 days of the year come over to you, breathe their alcoholic breathe all over you and tell you what a great guy you are, whilst helping themselves to more of your booze.

There is nothing on the TV (except maybe Jools Holland but even he is getting a bit samey), apart from possibly the repeat of Life of Brian. Not sure how much more of Jackie Bird one guy can take in a lifetime.

We'll probably see in the new year, share a glass of something nice and then go to bed.

Tomorrow morning we will see it in with a bottle of champagne and then look forward to the Spring when I can finally get back out on the bike.

To all of you, whether you have a quiet night, or the biggest lash in history, have a great night, all the best to you all for a great 2008 and safe enjoyable riding.

Here's to blue skies, long roads and no traffic (other than a group of your best pals alongside you).

Ride safe everyone.

Stradders.
