sv1000 swingarm for sv650?
Does anyone know if you can put the sv1000 swingarm on the sv650? I would be interested as then I could also put a 180 rear wheel....not for performance but for looks really...anyway, I thought changing the swingarm would be the easiest and "safest" way of putting a bigger wheel instead of making difficult mods to the existing swinarm.

Re: sv1000 swingarm for sv650?
I would think not. But the good news is the swing arm's plenty wide enough for a 180 tyre. While you can physically squeeze one on the standard rear wheel (and some people have) I would fit a different wheel as it'll be wider and not pinch the tyre to a point that it's fairly distorted. For the curvy a Bandit 1200 wheel fits with some spacers, the pointy I'm not so sure. but I'd be surprised it it was much different.

From my experience wider tyres just cost more....

You can just put a 180 rear on the standard rim, at least on the curvy, but it handles like a bent wheelbarrow, and also doesn't look massively different.
Then again, the tyres were also mismatched, unbalanced and squared off so not really a good comparison. But, it was free which made it tolerable for a week or so. |

Yup, only reason I considered it was because I needed a bike and there was nowhere open.
Completely daft to do that just for the sake of doing it. |
Re: sv1000 swingarm for sv650?
Can anyone confirm if the 1000 swingarm fits the 650 pointy?
