Fork Cleanup!
 

Well after showing Lissa my forks on a thread earlier in the weekend, it was time to have a go.

Befores and afters and one of the bike for you all...

Took me half an hour, just used Nitromors on it left it to raise it and scouring padded it of, then bit of Autoglym polished on and off and we were at the finishing point.

Pointer to take onboard: Nitromors is a bad substance to use, it seemed ok on forks for me, but i used it on the wheel and on the picture of the close up of the fork you can see where it has ate at the purple on the wheel.

Other pic is just to show her all cleaned up :) Did the forks before y'see.

Well done, my young apprentice:D

But only you could use paint remover on wheels with painted centres!:p

They look really good though, and when you consider how terrible they were before, it just shows what you can do with a little effort and the right stuff.

so what can and can't this Nitromors be used on(down pipes ect)? and where can i get it from:)?

Any hardware shop will sell it. You want the green tin. Just don't use it on rubber, plastic or anything painted or laquered you don't want stripped!:D

Perfectly safe on metal.

ok so i suppose it pretty lethal you you skin aswell and would also strip through latex mechanic gloves?:-s

Well, when I used it I didn't wear gloves.................and found out why you should:D

The burning only lasted for a while though, and the skin grew back eventually.


Only joking..............it didn't hurt that much, and latex gloves should be fine.

Ooh I hadn't thought of using nitromors on my forks.. might have to give that a go, I'm still not happy with them :P

how much is it ? As ebay may be cheep or not @ £9.00
