Mr Magoo
My poor old curvy has taken a right battering this week. First the spill on ice, entirely my fault, and now some flat cap wearing bespectacled blind old grey haired sunday driving **** in a cage must think I'm invisible or decides that vehicles on roundabouts from the right do not have right of way. Huddersfield Ainley Top this morning, I was coming from Brighouse way going to the M62, and he pulled out in front of me. Luckily I saw him coming and managed to scrub off most of my speed, and my armoured sidi boot and left leg took the brunt of the impact and fetched off his front bumper. Suzi (i know it's not original, but she's yellow, all mine and I love her :smt055) got away with a few more minor dings after we'd hit the car, the road and then the kerb. He seemed more bothered about the fact that he had somewhere to go than that he'd knocked me off, but then I had been shouting abuse at him for about 5 minutes after he floored me. Not big or clever I know but it's the one chance I'm going to get to let him know exactly what I thought of his driving and observation skills. I'm getting a dab hand at taking fairings on and off and straightening bits out! I rode over to A&E to be on the safe side when the police were done with us, but no fractures or cracks in my left leg. Phew. Once again I thank my lucky stars and the makers of hemlets and armoured bike gear. Don't leave the house without them.
Rant over :) |
Re: Mr Magoo
Glad your OK, can you stiff him for all the damage -every cloud has a silver lining!

Re: Mr Magoo
Well ranted:D
Look on the bright side.Police attended, and there should be no doubt about liability so you can get all the damage repaired.I would claim a small reasonable amount for "pain and suffering" for the leg as well. This to cover the fact that any payout for the bike will be less than you thought it would be.Oh and use a lawyer such as White Dalton. |
Re: Mr Magoo
I've just spoken to them Biggles, should a straightforward claim!

Re: Mr Magoo
i hope it wasn't the same mr magooo that knocked my mate off last year...it appears you got off lightly in comparison to him. anyway i said before that yellow curvys are really hard and it seems that my Suzy has a cousin from over t'ill !!! Maybe when my suzy is better you can come meet the Hx gang, we like curvys here.

Re: Mr Magoo
glad to hear you're ok matey, I regularly pass through ainley top and its a nightmare at the best of times. It always seems to have the highest concentration of numptys during rush hour.
Best I ever saw was some under age looking chav type with his clio park on 3 wheels heading onto the round about... the other had some how fallen off.... they looked like suspisciously new alloys which hadnt been attached properly. |
Re: Mr Magoo
I've met some of the hx crew already dizzy, namely yorkie chris and smudge, and what top folks they are. Sounds like there's a few of you lurking over that way. Hope to bump into a few more of you next time I get over to big d's.
Re the numtys Paul i've had to take avoiding action at ainleys before, but in the dry, not the monsoon it was this morning. My spidey sense must have been a bit rusty. Never seen a three wheeled clio yet tho!! |
