Fork oil air gap

Great search facillity: The following words were too common and not included in your search oil air gap !

Anyway, about to change my pointy fork springs to k-tech linears, but a bit confused about the proper air gap. Should it be?
  1. measured with springs in or out?
  2. measured with forks compressed or extended?
  3. 96 or 104mm?
Any help greatfully received

So it's definitely springs out and compressed. Cheers
Any more offers on the gap?

Whats the crack with curvys then, and what does it all mean setting it up? Got the springs and fitting them the weekend

Just one more question before I do it tommorow, if I fully compress the empty forks, won't they "lock up" as reported by others on this site???
