ebike insurance NCD

I was appalled that after electronically submitting my previous insurers details at registration, that I (the paying customer) have to get proof of NCD and then send it onto ebike (got a letter from ebike saying that I haven't sent it off yet).

Two things really

1. Why are they not doing this all electronically anyway?? the more unscrupulous could concoct a letter themselves.

2. Similar to above, even if paper is needed, why are they not doing this themselves?? Surely going direct would not only make it less likely for the customer to deceive, but relieving the paying customer of this burden and added expense ... (phone call, envelope, postage etc)

finally in this day and age of computer connectivity and the fact ebike is computer based, what about the trees that are being felled to provide paper proof of NCD for no good reason??

I sent a snotogram email to ebike customer care and will phone them on Monday ...

I will obviously get and send the NCD, but am appalled I have to do so!!

...
...

{and RELAX Blue_!!} :D

Surely they'll confirm it anyway?
Or would they only do that in case of an accident?

I had to send them into bennetts, I thought it was just because they were ****e... (im getting away asap).

Erm so do all insurance companies make us customers do all the leg work when it comes to confirming the NCD?

:( Pain in the **** insurance companies. :smt098

What's the big deal? Insurer wants proof of NCB? 30 pence for a stamp and an envelope liberated from the stationery cupboard at work later and you're sorted. You'll be complaining that they sometimes want a copy of your licence next.

I've just swapped my car insurance, and they didn't ask for the proof to be sent - the pack just had a form letter stating that I'd have to prove it if I did need their services.

outrageous. insurance companies can do what they like, just shut up and bend over. :P

on a serious note, I think insurance companies are up there with the inland revenue and call centres on my target list.:smt032

And then the insurance is invalid and the insurance company doesnt have to pay out. Gives them another possible escape route. Insurance is just a scam with most companies IMO.
