Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
I think I do...its the socket looking thingy with 4 lumps...?
I'm technical..me:D I'll check tomorrow, but I think the seller chucked it in the bag of spares when I bought the bike. Billy. |
Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
You could always make one out of an old socket.
Thats what i'm doing. |
Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
Im considering taking my swingarm off as well (to replace chain) but have a couple of questions.
When you take the shock linkages off, does the shock drop meaning i would need some kind of force on the shock to get it to compress for the swingarm to be replaced? |
Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
I don't know if its the same with the pointy but to get the swing arm of the curvy you need to remove the exhaust system, which can be a real pain if its not been shifted for a while.
I to have a castle socket for the castle nut that I made myself. |

Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
Remove exhaust system, remove back wheel, crack the bolts off and remove swingarm locking nuts, dogbones off first, then drop the linkage and remove the shock.
While you're at it, clean and grease all the bearings, your wallet will thank you later. |
Re: Swingarm Removal Tool
May do this seeing as I need to change the shock anyway, be good to do it all at once and make sure all is well down there.
What's the best way to clean bearings and what grease should I use? Regards |
