Laguna Exhaust Manifold removal.

Can anyone tell me how easy ( I use the work easy in hope rather than the word difficult) it is to take the exhaust manifold off of a Renault Laguna Monaco 2.0ltr 16V engine :?:

Mine is cracked and sounds like a tank. It's been getting worse and worse and now I think time has come to get it changed.

Renault quoted me £400 + VAT for a new one. My local garage quoted £300 quid for the job and this includes a new manifold so how he got that figure I don't know. Still, he charged me a paltry £50 for a cam belt change so I know he's honest. Anyway back on track. A breaker has a practically brand new one with all the required added bits on for £175 but I need to know if this is a job that I can do or not. Does the engine have to be lifted out or anything as drastic as that :?: It's French car, so it's not going to that simple is it :?:

is this the new (pointy:rolleyes:) shape ones. my brother has got the 2.0 RTI (curvy:rolleyes:) one and from what I've seen from that its pretty a confined space.

sorry not much experience on modern cars.

EDIT: just seen a pic of your one and its complete different of the old engine set up

It's the older less pointy (better) shape. And your right, not a whole lot of space in there.
