frame problem
 
Can anyone help?I have a 2005 sv 650s with black frame which is bent.I have located a 2004 frame which is silver.Will it fit my bike?Is the only difference the colour?Any info much appreciated.

You could also consider getting the existing one straightened. Its not too expensive and you dont need to remove the engine and swing arm unless of course the damage is way too bad.

Apart from the colour, the frame is the same...I've just fitted a K5 engine into my K3.

No,i'm not james.I read somewhere on this forum that the sub frames are different.Will the black sub frame fit on to the silver frame?Thanks for the info.

It's a race bike i bought with the frame already bent.Bloke in northern ireland(i am from dublin,ireland)that straightens frames told me it could be as much as £350 to straighten and thats if he could straighten it and it's a 4 hour drive to get there and with the price of petrol that could add another £100.Used frames from uk range from £350 to £800 plus shipping and seem to be snapped up.In euros both options are very expensive.1 euro is 75 english pence.I don't want to get frame straightened and would rather take the chance on a used frame.I have just bought a frame from the states for $650 incl. shipping which is roughly £330.

yes,they are same.only 03 subframe is different.

Thanks.Managed to get black 05 frame.Keeps the bike looking original.I asked another question about skimming cylinder heads in a different thread.You seem to be the man to ask.
