puss 3 as a doovdee player
Now the hi def media war is over, I was wondering whether to get a dedicated blueray player, or a ps3. The ps3 with the bluetongue remote works out at about ?315, similar priced. Until they release Kula World again, I wont be interested in playing games on it, so it would just be for its player qualities - I've already got a 360 I never find time to play.
Anyone have any unbiased reviews to refer me to, or comparisons with dedicated players? What else can the ps3 do - surf the net? Can you add a keyboard just like you can with the 360? |
Re: puss 3 as a doovdee player
With PS3 you get to play Metal Gear Solid 4 before it inevitably comes to the 360, and stuff like Gran Turismo 5 as well. I wouldn't bother getting a standalone player when PS3 is there, doesn't seem like much point to it!
Also, Kula World was amazing. Loved that game. |

If you're not going to be playing games, I wouldn't rush to get a dedicated blueray too soon. Now the format war is over there'll be more investment and competition in the blueray market to come.

I've seen a comparison of the PS3 vs dedicated blu-ray and upscaling DVD players. The PS3 surprisingly did extremely well - as well or better than the dedicated players. It has superb upscaling capabilities.

Re: puss 3 as a doovdee player
The funny thing about blu ray vs HD DVD was what my mom said, before they were both launched. even thought the HD DVD has better growth abilty (more layers than blu ray) blu ray will win. why??
because it has a much cooler and more easily said name. simple. but yeah, wait for abit for the prices to fall as competition picks up. |
