weekend Panal repair done.

Thought I'd show you what I've been up to this weekend.

having put up with looking at the damage for to long, I thought I'd have a go at it myself.
Brought the paint in 400ml cans from MK piants, filler and alot of rubbing down, abit of fine filling, and as I 've had a go at this before on previous motors etc, I think I do a good job :smt112

not a bad job, as it was dropped at 10 mph by pervious owner.

thanks, did find it abit hard getting the right amount of blue on top of the silver base coat, but you can hardly tell,

just needed a good polish up in a couple of days.

I presume this is Grand Candy Blue yes?

I'm just about to do my race fairing same colour. Do you have the paint codes to hand?

So, its a Silver base coat followed by how many Blue coats?

the paint code is YC2 Grand Candy Blue , and you need the silver base coat.

Then a good covering of the blue, but theres no more or less coverage.

Then your laqure on top to finish it off.

So was this one single coat of Blue to go over the silver?

I think its a pearl, isn;t it? it needs to go on in very thin coats, I think its 2-3. even if its not a pearl same principal. its a suck it and see thing, depends on the original job, tone and fade

after placing the panels back on the bike, there is a slight differance in tone, as the blue I've just repaired is slightly darker than the others, but only slightly.

The silver is there to give it that perlencent/matalic look, as the blue is quite dark,

The silver is supplied as the base coat, when ordering the colour make sure you buy ths aswell
