Tail Tidy Question.
Today i fitted an evotech tail tidy to my bike (not an sv650 anymore ) and the holes already in my number plate do not line up with the holes on the tail tidy. Is it normal to have to drill new holes in your number plate when you fit a tail tidy? :(

Re: Tail Tidy Question.
If you don't want to drill new holes in your No. plate why not get a piece of stiff(ish) plastic and drill 4 holes and use it as an adaptor.

Re: Tail Tidy Question.
Why not use some good quality double sided tape to put the number plate on with. Been doing this for years and never lost a plate yet. Then you don't need to drill the plate and use unsightly plastic screws.

Re: Tail Tidy Question.
thanks all. i got some no nails self adhesive strips in homebase today. It says each one can hold 3kgs and there is room for 2 on the tail tidy. I'd guess the number plate ways less than 100g so it shold hold fine.
I did see the seld adhesive velco strips and was very tempted. would be really useful for a quick blast down the bus lane on my way into work. |
Re: Tail Tidy Question.
Yeah, the holes will never line up! I have seen some people use the coloured plastic number plate bolts to fill the holes in, or you leave them as they are and claim them as weight saving!:smt098
