Pillion seat / cowl
Hi All,
I'm looking to replace the pillion seat on my SV650s K3 with a cowl. Is anyone able to tell me whether the K2 pillion seat the same dimensions as the k3? Cheers, Tony |
Re: Pillion seat / cowl
It's a completely different shape. K2 is the Curvy K3 onwards is the pointy.
Welcome to the forum too :-D Curvy Cowl: http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/svcowl.jpg Pointy Cowl: http://www.whaccessories.com/GIMSeatCowlSV650-1000.jpg |
Re: Pillion seat / cowl
Yeap the K2 is a curvy and the K3 is a pointy, as shown in the pic's above by pmapp. If you are going for a pointy cowl I would say go for the official Suzuki item (shown above), its the best made and comes with the bracket to replace the grab handle holes if you remove it.

Re: Pillion seat / cowl
That's that sorted then! Many thanks guys. (So that's why the models are called "pointy" & "curvy"! Doh ! Only had the bike a few weeks.

Re: Pillion seat / cowl
Sorry Tony, I didn't know you were an SV newbie. Yeah, pointy is the later fuel injected model ('03-onwards) and the curvy is of course the early model ('99-'02). Which ever model you have I would recommend the Suzuki seat cowl, however the curvy cowls are nearly sold out.
For any more info try the search section, you will be amazed at how much info is on this site. The members here are good and very helpful and at some point someone has tried it so you are always gonna get good advice. Enjoy your SV Tony.... Dave |
