Does this sound like a good deal?

I'm thinking of buyin this sv1000sk3 and was wondering if it was a good deal or not. So here's what it is.............

+1 - seems to have a bit of high mileage. But bike business were selling one a while back with 53,000 miles on the clock for ?2700 on a 03 plate!

DO NOT GET PARANOID ABOUT MILEAGE !!!

Jeez, the way people go on these days amazes me !! It's not that long ago that the average mileage for a bike was about 10k per year - before too many people decided to buy a bike as a summer 'toy' & screw up the averages for the rest of us !!

The SV Thou engine is well proven lump (in fact Suzuki just don't produce 'bad' engines) so mileage shouldn't be a problem if you can verify the Full Service History has been done correctly & at (approx) the correct intervals.

32,000 miles isnt too much. It'll go pop in about another 100,000 miles AT LEAST :D

I say go for it!

I know I would be tempted...

.

Agreed, It is annoying that if I was to cover just 5000 miles per year on my Kwak and sell it after 3 years it would be classed as high mileage, WTF with only 15,000 on the clock. Some cars do that in less than a year.

It amazes me how many bikes you see in dealers a year or 18 months old with only about 1500 miles on the clock, its barely been run in properly FFS!!

I do only really use my bike as a weekend and nice day commuting tool but even so I am not concerned about the mileage on it as I know I will have it serviced on time and by a Kwak dealer( mainly to keep the warranty) so if I do a fair few miles on it I am not bothered. I know it has been looked after.

Look at the type of seller as well a mature sensible type has looked after it more than likely through those 32K miles.

ah yes, if you read the bible closely it's actually immoral to ride a motorcycle, or at least i bet there's a nut-case church in the states that's managed to misinterpret a translation of a translation of a translation of the years old recollections of a cattle sacrificing primative in order to justify their own beliefs...

or am i just being cynical...

Strangly likely to be the case mate.

As for the bike knock a little more off if you can :p. But all in not a bad price for what you get. Try to get a decent warrenty, incase there are any obvious issues come to the surface. ;)
