Strange Clicking & Stiff Steering????
 

Hello All

Just wanted to ask a couple of questions.

When I left work this afternoon, my steering felt quite stiff. Its fine when at speed cause of counter steering so don't turn much.

By the time I had gotten through the bad weather and got soaked it seemed to loosen.

I have also found that occasionaly when fully locked at low speed etc, sometimes hear a single click from the front, like something is catching.

I have looked at all the cables and there are no nicks and nothing is catching but just wandered if anyone had any thoughts???

It may be just me, but just worried since my crash (bike fully repaired) of any click or irregularity. Am I going mental?:confused:

If you are at full lock then could the noise not be the lock stop?

Check you head bearings, they may be loose.

if you get clicks when turning the bars lock to lock when you're not moving then this is a likely cause. The steering will also feel notchy.

Cheers for the replies chaps.No clicks when moving full lock to lock and steering feels fluid this morning.I don't know whether there was some dirt etc in there. I guess will just have to see how it goes over next week. Its going in for the 4k service next friday anyhow.

You're only just back on the bike after you kissed asphalt, so maybe it was in your head. :)

When i got back on after my last offski, i was convinced the rear was flat. I pulled over twice to check it! The mind plays funny tricks..........

ASM - I think you may be right.....was fine this morning......so will see how it goes.
