Remus revolution-gp too loud ?

Hi all,

Ok, I'm stuck. Can somebody help me out please ?

I'd like to buy a (oval) Remus Revolution-gp for me K3. Problem is I don't want it to be too noisy, even with the baffle in (and yes I'm an old man already:crutches:).
In Benelux I can only get the "trapeziodal" Remus Revolution because that's the only e-certified (noisewise) model for a k3+.
I think lots of you in UK here have revolution-gp's mounted. I'd like to know if it's really "loud" with the baffle in. Is there somebody who has been able to compare both in baffled status ?

I'd prefer the revolution-gp because it's smaller and fits the bike a bit better I think.

Thanks.

Re: Remus revolution-gp too loud ?

I have had a few Remus cans in the past on a few different bikes. Its not really loud just a deeper (proper) V-twin grumble, you will notice an increase in noise level over the standard though as the OEM exhaust is rediculously muffled. At tick over with the baffle out there also isn't much difference in noise level, however at higher revs the sound level does increase.

They are great cans, aimed at producing a deeper tune rather than noise level.

The Revolution GP is much better than the trapeziodal shaped one, its to big and bulky!

As far as I was aware they are 2 models:

Revolution, EU stamped with the removeable baffle in
GP - Unbaffled

Thought GP was the name of the shape (oval), I may be wrong! But yes the same oval shape is available with a removable baffle or as a straight race can.

Re: Remus revolution-gp too loud ?

There are 3 more or less classical models:
- grand prix, oval unbaffled race-version
- revolution-g(rand)p(rix): oval, baffled, not e-certified in Benelux for K3+, "road-legal" in UK (with baffle in of course )
- revolution: trapezoidal baffled, bit bulky as Dangerous Dave stated, e-certified for all.

I just wanna find out if the baffled revol.-gp doesn't cause headaches after a few hours riding, or won't wake up people on the camping of the gliderfield where I come drivin in on sunday morning 8am :smt067

The revol.-gp is "e-stamped" too, but if somebody has it on the bike, can he/she tell me what's excactly stamped on it?

I have a Remus Revolution Oval Carbon can, yep its louder than standard, offensivley with the baffle out? I don't think so (but im biased).

Its not the GP tho just the revolution.

@ethariel

If you got an oval can, it's a revolution-gp allright.

If the shape is more or less trapeziodal, it's a plain revolution.

Both carry a sticker/plate with "Remus Revolution" though.

I'm 100% positive i have the plain old revolution.

Remus Info!

Revolution and GP zorsts are a different line.

Re: Remus revolution-gp too loud ?

ok I can see no rev-gp's on the pub.?
So you do have a trapezoidal can then ?
In this German pub you can find both rev. and rev.-gp: http://www.phoenix-motorrad.de/filea...uebersicht.pdf

So the revolution is not too loud baffled as I understood.
Dono though if the plain revolution is older than the rev.-gp.

Ah !!

i see what you are getting at - Mine is over 2 years old now.

No idea tho bud, afaik Revolution and GP were seperate exhausts.

I simply called cal Sport, asked for a Remus Revolution in Carbon oval and gave then a CC number. A week later my can arrived and Viney (god bless his little cotton socks!!) made it work for me :)
