anyone fitted Motrax heated grips

Has anyone successfully fitted Motrax heated grips on their bike?

Mine were done at the dealers and when I got my bike, the heated grips were sticking out on both sides of the handlebars. The bar ends were in the topbox and no explanation.

I have phoned them and was told the bar ends of an SV650 don't fit with heated grips. I'll come back to you.

It would help if I would hear from people who have fitted these specific grips as I have already heard that it is possible to fit the Oxford ones (if you cut some off the inside).

I can then go back to them. Thanks.

Hmmm, is yours a SV or SVS?

On mine (SV) the grips do overlap the barends slightly.

Is there any room to move the switchgear inward slightly?

SV650 (naked).

I want to go back to the dealers as they have not done a good job, sure they can move things. So you got the bar ends back on? They're saying that's not possible. And you have Motrax ones?

No, mine are oxfords but sounds a very similar situation.

Anyway, AFAIK the standard barends are the same o/d as the bar, so the grips just sit about halfway over the barend.

Are your barends a larger o/d like the S models?

I have no idea I'm afraid.

Just compared the old grips and they are nearly 1 cm (10mm) shorter than the heated grips.

I had Daytona brand heated grips on a GSXR (same grip length) and there were Oxford ones on my naked SV when I got it, neither overlapped the ends of the bars and I kept the standard bar ends.

The switches have a locating pin - if the switches are to be moved the pin will need to be removed. I'd guess this is the reason the shop fitted the grips as they did.

Have you tried fitting the smaller bar end weights, slim or bullet type???

The slim fit ones (left) are the same diameter as the bars.
