Suspension help
I need some advice on suspension upgrades please orgers. I have just bought a k4 gixer 1000 shock and have read somewhere on here that for heavier people ( I am about 100kgs or 220lbs) it is a bit softly sprung, is it worth getting something else?
Also getting front end done with heavier fork oil and new springs, can anyone recommend springs that would cope with my heavyness? I think a spring rate of about 0.9kg/mm is what i need? please help i am a bit confused by it all |
Re: Suspension help
it will be fine for street bike.

Re: Suspension help
gsxr shock has around 480 spring..90 on front is good balance with rear.
those are good for street bike.if you are aggressive and doing track riding you may want to go one rate up. |
Re: Suspension help
Hi I've just bought some Bitubo linear springs for £30 and come with spacers....they recommend 15W oil.....don't know how good they are but it has to be an improvement over stock items.

Re: Suspension help
Sorry to hi jack your thread but i'm similarly big boned and have finally got the money for my suspension. I was planning a nitron sport shock (?295) with a spring to suit my bulk and some 0.90 front springs. Who does the best springs, what oil do i need and do i need progressive or linear for the road?
Also, is this upgrade the one to do before ditching the D220's because it's either or at the moment. |
