Where do R&Gs go?
I am after your recommendations as to where is the best place to put R+G crash protectors on a 2000 SV650S, faired with full lower fairing.
Which is the best place for them? Frame or engine mounted?:-? Thanks |
Re: What do you recommend?
R&Gs? Put them where they're designed to go  If you've got lowers you want the ones with the wee extra bracket that stands them off from the frame, the older style ones that go straight through the main engine mount need the fairings cut. Performance wise I'm not sure which is worse, the old ones had a higher fail rate but were more protective if they worked, so that's complicated.

Re: What do you recommend?
Frame mounted is the best place, avoid any that fit to either the front or rear cylinder as the are a waste of time and money!
The early R&G's were better than the later set, do you know which type you have (i.e have you just bought them new from R&G)? If you have instructions then follow what they say. |

Thanks Dangerous Dave. It probably sounds like a daft question but if you've never fitted them before........? |
