Bike Lift
Hi,
I am looking for a bike lift, but do not want to send a fortune. I need a stand so both the front and back wheels are off the ground so i can remove the front wheel and adjust the chain. I have been told i can get one that you fit through the hole in the centre of the frame, this will then lift both wheels off the gorund so work can be carried out on the bike. Any idea's what these are called and any good websites on where i can buy? Thanks in advance. Regards Andy |

Re: Bike Lift
Hi,
It maybe a cheaper option, but paddock stands do not allow me to remove the front wheel???? I tried this on Saturday and almost lost the bike on the floor!!!! Andy |
Re: Bike Lift
Also remember that the chain should be adjusted when the bike is on the flooe on its side-stand.

I have an Abba stand, and an Abba lift too, and they're both very handy but for 9/10 jobs cheap paddock stands are all you need. You can even get by with just a rear stand and a bottle jack, or a pair of axle stands and a milk crate, or a load of bricks (my favourite with my 125) or you can hang it from the rafters or from a strong ladder or similiar a-frame. But paddock stands aren't expensive and they're easy. |
