dodgy electrics

Hi there, could anyone tell me the best way to get to the connector block near the headstock? I spent all yesterday testing each bit to figure out the cause and found that it was the connector block near the front. Its either dirty or a loose connection because my headlights keep cutting out.

Yep, either from the top by lifting the fuel tank and removing the airbox, or from below by unfastening the rad and moving it forward.

In practice I did both at the same time to give me room to work.

probley best takeing airbox off and maby even dropping the rad a bit aswell as you dont have alot of room.

You sure you don't mean the connector block in front of the headstock that is inside the front fairing?

Fair point. There was no actual mention of what exactly was dodgy so we probably need to know that or the particular connector you are referring to.

I did mention it mate, if you read the 1st post which im assuming you did judging from your first reply to this thread :)

Stu its definately not the connector block inside the front fairing as I spent most of sunday with my dad looking at the wiring diagram and testing bits with his electrial tester thingy lol(dont konw what its called).

We did access the connector block which is the problem located near the headstock, by undoing the radiator but there was so little room we could only fiddle with it to get the lights back on. Im pretty sure its a loose connection or dirty as they cut out on me last night and I managed to squeeze my hand in between the frame without undoing anthing and just give it a little nudge to get them back on. Is the airbox easy to take off? because I/dad really want a good look at the ******* connector block lol.

The airbox on a pointy is pish to take off.

Rider seat off (including side plastics - black triangular ones), tank up, airbox top off, then it's just two bolts holding the airbox on.

Ah, I was saying the connector in the fairing is still near the headstock. Just in front of it
