PTFE dry lube spray for brake pistons
 

Now I'm not reccomending this nor suggesting it. So no need to flame quite yet...

But I've got some PTFE chain lube which is very good on levers and stuff because it dries off to leave a dry film of PTFE.

Also I know some manufacturers use coated pistons.

So, could you use a coat of PTFE lube before you pop the pistons in?

Reason being, rubber grease doesn't tend to stick around on the sides of the pistons where they're extended out of the cylinder, and it would be another useful barrier to corrosion.

Don't think it'll do anything that Red rubber grease doesn't do ;) . I'll still be wipe off as you push the pistons in.

I reckon 'same old' regular cleaning of pistons is all that is required to prevent any corrosion. After pushing the pistons in, I always put some Red rubber grease around the circumference of the pistons(kinder puting an extra dust seal). Repeat everytime the pistons get cleaned.
