Insurance - cant get below £340

29 years old, no claims / accidents etc. Live in Bromsgrove (midlands). Been riding since November, CBT since feb last year. Bike in locked garage, use for commuting. First big bike - SV650S 2007.

What are others paying?

Just wondering if this is about average.

Try Carol Nash and Bennetts. Watch out for Bennetts though as they sting you for £25 every time you change any details on your policy. Also not good at all if you change bikes before policy renewal.

Give Footman James a try. You also get free UK and European breakdown and recovery with their policies.

If you already haven't, try The Bike Insurer, I got a quote through them of £270 (a day after passing my test, 26yo, bike on street TPTFT).
Now after 1 year, bike in lock up, 2x miles FC and same price.

A few years ago, I had a couple of yeas off biking. When I came back I had obviously let my no claims bonus lapse.

I called http://www.insurance2000.co.uk/ and they said "No no claims? What about on a car?" "Five years" says I. "Ok, we'll match that for you".

I was a bit stunned by that. Might be worth a try.
