Bike squashed by 4x4

I was doing 120mph+, knee down racing a Ferrari when a 4x4 T- boned me.

Fortunately I saw him a split second before impact, and was able to lay the bike down (see recent thread :D) so causing minimal damage to yours truly

Well, um, truth be a bit duller ......left the bike at the fuel pumps, cashier looked out the window at a reversing 4x4....

Cashier said: "I hope he's seen that bike"

Me: "Huh?"

4x4: "crunch"

Picked the bike up - rear of tank badly squashed (fell against a post) - apart from that "Only" the usual levers out of square and various scratches.

Swapped insurance details and as the pumps were next to the dealer bike purchased from (new - 2 months ago :() got it booked in for an insurance quote next week.

Although not happy, I really was not that upset - more annoyed cos' the fooker never reversed over it for a full write off.

£50 for a gear or rear brake lever. That's just wrong.

Stick to the first part of the story I like it:D. Once all the OEM parts are on it'll be like new

And the cost of repainting anything that's scratched... Expensive paint that requires '2-Pak' lacquer...

Just had another good looksee at the bike:-

The rear brake lever / footrest is out of line (knew that when riding)

Tank squashed (badly - it seems to have absorbed the fall and saved everything else - that tank pad was not much use :().

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...8/DSC00864.jpg

A few scratches on lower r/h fairing (they look white - but I am guessing the fairing is solid black plastic?)

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...8/DSC00861.jpg

A scuff on l/h upper fairing (looks like 4x4 point of contact)

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...8/DSC00862.jpg

A small scuff on Exhaust Can.

Apart from that........b#gger all I can see or feel - bar ends and indicators are not even scratched!

Re: Bike squashed by 4x4

sorry to say but with the tank ?300 fairing ?300 fairing ?150, and exhaust system ?800 it sounds like a potential write off....

You may be able to prevent that by dealing an akrapovic system out of the insurer as they are ?500, (its been done before)

Glad yoru ok...
