My new red and black beast - it's a bit tall!

:p

The red line shows how tall I am at 5'4".

I mentioned him a while ago HERE, when he was looking like this:

Well - things have moved on a bit - following various bits of professional advice the rescue centre took 'enforced ownership' of him and them promptly handed him over to me...

... I was a little gobsmacked to be just given him - but I'm over the moon. I don't care that between the two of us we have four working legs ;), I'm actually looking forward to rehabilitating him - even if it's only even for very light work - I'm not going to be up for much more than that myself anyway.
This is the legacy of his racing accident:

He's got a similar but slightly smaller scar on his other hind leg. The ligaments are shot in one (so, again, similar to me ) but he's sound and not lame - just weak and need time and gentle rehap.

He's now moved from the centre to the university stables: not only are they just down the road from me, but the facilities are great and I've got the back-up of my tutors n stuff too. Added to that one of my degree modules for next year is Sport's Injury and Rehabilitation - so I can use him as a case study.

He's been there since Friday - but he's already settled in very well - mooching round the yard whilst I got his dinner ready.

So yeah - something a little different to a motorbike, but every one likes a happy ending so I just thought I'd share.

I am so pleased for you.....I really kept my fingers crossed for you when you originally posted about him. I am sure he'll give you a fair few yrs of loyalty for just doing what you have done. A friend of mine inherited an ex showjumper in a similar sort of way and Crewby was an intelligent, beautiful and cheeky friend.....he lived to a very old age for a horse with dodgy kidneys.

Oh this is wonderful news :smt038 K. May you both be happy in your wonky legness;)
