Curvey Tank Question
Hey all,
Been a while since i posted in here as i have been mostly hiding in the SV Ecosse section. Question - When you open the tank filler cap on your bike and stare into the emptyness that is your tank before you fill it up, there is a copper tube running down the left from a hole under the filler cap. This is obviuosly to drain the water from under the filler cap, but how is it connected at the other end? at the bottom of the tank? Is it welded onto the tank and then connected to a rubber piped section? is there any flex in the joint? This small pipe/drain has has come loose from under my fuel cap/drain and i was wondering how i could fix it so it would be sealed, or screwed back up so that it would not wobble? (no drain :() I was thinking of either trying to thread a screw down the hole and into the copper pipe just to stop it moving about and reduce the stress of wobble on the bottom section or trying to force the pipe up through the hole and sort of "jamming" it in place. any ideas? or am i quacking up the wrong tree? cheers |
