Starting bike...not a smooth affair
when i start the bike it seems abit dodgy- been like this for ages
once it started it runds smooth though it's abit clunky and with anymore than a little throttle, it konks out, as if maybe only one cyclinder is doing any work. So have to hold it at around idle speed or slightly over, until after say 30s where it starts to come to life and then is fine and can go up through the revs not sure what its all about, but as i have some time on my hands now i can have a butchers and the plugs and whatnot any ideas whats going on? tis a bit hard to describe and bike is fine once its going so havent really done owt about it yet Draper |

Re: Starting bike...not a smooth affair
Might be stuck choke plungers. Its pretty common on a curvey for them to stick and the choke not work properly.

Re: Starting bike...not a smooth affair
yeah i know they are prone to stick, but then i havent used it, would that mean that if that were the case when i put abit of throttle on, the engine just gets choked up abit and doesnt like it?

Re: Starting bike...not a smooth affair
Is this from a cold start?Mine does this, and I put it down to the carbs sorting themselves out getting fuel levels even and adequate. As long as all is well after 30 seconds I dont think its anything to worry about.
