Good Value Tankbags

Ordered one of these from M&P on Tuesday ready for AR08, arrived today. Pretty good price and good features (top zips off to leave just the Map holder, expandable, front pocket zips off to create bumbag). Almost the same as the Oxford First Time one (minus the rucksack bit) but a third of the price.

No probs. Received it yesterday, it's excellent for the price. As said in original post it is very similar to the first time tankbag Oxford do, minus the rucksack straps, but it does have a shoulder strap and a carry handle. Also comes with waterproof cover. Holds 22 litres unexpanded and 36 litres expanded and it isn't stupidly high when expanded. Had a Hein Gericke expandable bag a few years ago which was about £35 and it's on a par if not better than that IMO. Hope that helps.

Tried it on the bike loaded up and expanded and can see the clocks no problem. It isn't stupidly high when expanded, roughly 30cms in height, maybe slightly shorter. I do have naked though so the riding position is more upright compared to an 'S' and I'm just over 6 foot tall. Very good bag for the price though and has capacity of 22 litres unexpanded. I've got a small first time tankbag too which holds 18 litres and the new one is better as it is square and equal height all round, the smaller one i have is stepped and harder to pack. HTH.

You just need ro be careful where you put the bag down when it's off the bike (i.e not on gravel etc) and check the base before you put it on the tank to make sure there are no stones or anything metal stuck to it that will scratch the tank. I've not scratched mine using one by doing this.

I just ordered one of these 'cos it matches the tail pack. Not received it yet, so can't review it.
