i thought the choke on the EFI models was incorperated into the ECU, it's not on the wiring diagram as a seperate component:confused:

Agreed. Fast idle when cold, ECU sorts it all out.

What is the ECU? how much would a replacement cost?

Is that why there is no reference to choke in the manuals?

Ok got it now engine control unit / module. still is is likely that this needs replaced, hopefully fine tweked is all it needs.

if it's broken it'll be replaced, the cost of opening it and trying to repair it would be greater than the replacement, if it were possible

there's a few on eBay for ~£70-100 at the moment, but i'd check that it definitely needs replacing before buying

Eh? All done by the ECU, but the chances of anything being wrong with that are minimal, chances are it's coolant temp sensor that controls the cold-enrichment and that'll be at fault. Probably a wiring problem or a sensor.

Cheers Wolf, I'll maybe have a go at the fuses, just seen a post form Mags back in January which is very similar and playing about with fuses and electrical connections seemed to resolve the problem.

Fingers crossed.

if not the motor that runs that runs the secondary throttle butterflys so it's gunna be working otherwise the bike wouldnt run right at all.
The cam it runs off has an adjustable lobe on it, try adjusting it to see if it helps.
