Castrol Red Rubber Grease.
I've always found this stuff difficult to find... and increasingly so. To the point that I've never been able to actually buy some!
Having discussed it with Sid Squid and Spiderman on Monday evening, we found some on Ebay - but it was just one pot. However, a little more searching seems to have found a reliable source: ESM Morris Minor Spares Just £4.50 for a 500ml tub... the delivery is a bit dear, but elsewhere seems to charge more for the grease and less for the delivery, so swings and roundabouts. Ordered two on Monday night, they arrived this morning. |
Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
what's this for?
|
Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
used for servicing brake calipers as it isn't affected by brake fluid and doesn't destroy the rubber seals.
I got a 500ml pot from ebay for about £5 delivered :-) |
Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
In short, it's the grease you should use on anything that has significant contact with anything that's rubber. Brake seals is an obvious example, but also all the rubber boots around your brake calipers... Also under the gear linkage boots too.

He's right you know. Good site.
Can you find me a source for castrol BNS too? :-P |
Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
Ta, been meaning to get some of this, but never got round to hunting down somewhere that did it. Just ordered 2 tubs of it.

Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
I got mine from Frosts, and I think it'll last me about a decade :) Plus there's always something else to buy when you check out Frosts' inventory.

Re: Catrol Red Rubber Grease
Very disappointed. Was hoping this was about Kim Catral, in red rubber, greased.
