multigrade fork oil ... wtf
what use is multigarde for oil ..

It's just a description really, the "W" number is cold and the other is hot viscosities.
http://www.peterverdonedesigns.com/lowspeed.htm All oils will have numbers for hot and cold, it just depends how the manufacturers want to describe it. If my understanding of fork oils is correct (by no means for definite!), I think a 10W30 fork oil will be a quite high viscosity index (VI), and as such probably quite desirable. I think it would be in the same viscosity range as the Silkolene PRO RSF and Red Line Medium the author of the above seems to like. Basically the viscosity won't change as much as a "straight" 10W when it gets hot. Mind you, that depends where it starts off in the 10W range. Others may be able to expand on this........... |
