Bike + Trailer = Bad

not me pulling a trailer, me hitting a vans trailer

A449 worcester way, left turn going 35 (40 zone), oh no theres a massive trailer taking up the whole of the road better put the brakes on and pull as right as i can. Trailer end was low enough to slip under the radar (fairing) and knock me rad, bending the left of it and letting green liquid ooze everywhere. It continued to snap the end of the gear shift and bash my foot (although i didnt realise it at the time).

3PF&T so hand in pocket it is. minimal damage to trailer, just bashed light box and refelctor off. Happened to be part of a big car servicing company so he called the main boss and settled 30 quid cash with a headed paper receipt and they are going to report it as just witnessed and accident.

In a way i guess i'm lucky? van man could have ripped me right off, engine and fairing and god knows what else could have been mangled, and me if we went down

evidently i should have been going slower round the bend, it is a dodgy blind one and didnt realise there was a queue on the other side as the road infront had been clear all the way, but i was hardly going fast. Lesson learned maybe?

Possibility of metatarsal breakage, but ankle and everything is alright, just swollen foot. A few ibuprofen and a tube sock thing and i can weight bear alright so hopefully i'll be back on form soon

I may take this opportunity to ask if anyone has a rad and a gear shift up for sale? I called the garage, they said there is a radiator specialist repair place near them, but i'd be surprised if they can fix it, so looks like i'll be having to fork out for a new rad. I shall hit the for sale page now. what a goit - was meant to be in the gower surfing and kayaking now

Draper

bad luck chap, but coulda been worse..

Get the foot checked by a quack. my mum slipped on some steps, thought she had just sprained her ankle... turns out she had fractured her leg. was walking on it for a week before doing anything....

Gutted chap,

Blind bends and stuff not moving is a real pain....quite literally.

Cant see you did much wrong, at least you tried to take evasive action.

I know the road well, well known for dangerousness but not particularly windy. Must watch out for cameras and plod down there, there are tons of em;-)

Im glad your not too badly injured mate and the bike is a relatively easy fix :-)
