Chain wearing through swingarm.
Hello, I'm new to biking and am wondering if its normal for the chain to rest on the swingarm when the engine is stopped? It also looks like its been wearing little grooves in it... :rabbit:
I'm sure someone will ask what the free play is, so ill go check that now... |
Re: Chain wearing through swingarm...
ok, on further investigation... it seems to be wearing through some manky slab of rubber... and the play is about 35mm on the sidestand which seems about right

Re: Chain wearing through swingarm...
Yeah, that's what the manky slab of rubber's there for.

Re: Chain wearing through swingarm...
The manky piece of rubber is the chain slider :D That is what it is there for and it is doing it's job of protecting the swing arm. It's a wearing part and needs to be replaced periodically (I Think).
