Replaced Release Screw
After a return journey of about 500 miles up North, all non motorway, my clutch wrist,(as well as my knees) were a bit stiff. Then I started to have think about standing starts a bit more as the clutch felt a bit sticky, made pulling off a bit un elegant. So last Friday I removed the clutch cable, which was a little stiff, and gave it a good lube. That done, and nice and smooth, refitted, it still felt a little juddery. So then took the Clutch release screw assembly off, (the unit the clutch cable connects to). Re greased that, but still not happy, so I stripped the screw down, to find the races the bearings run in, were actually corroded, so the bearings were not running smoothly. Ordered a new unit and cable, (under £40 for the pair) fitted them today, and it’s like a new bike, must be what it was like when it was new. Think I’ll do me throttle now. Mike |

Re: Replaced Release Screw
When you say a new unit, do you mean the corkscrew assembly with the single barrings in it? if so i'd greatly appreciate it if you'd link me to where you bought it from.
