My new (well old) Winter hack!!
Got myself a right little bargin . A Honda CG125 for £300 for a winter commurter and run around.
Its H reg so kick start and Drum brakes , but TBH they havent really changed that much since 76! LOL Rode it back from St albans last night and saw a 72 on the clock down hill. 65 seems to be tops on the flat. The only issue i have is that when you brake ir indicate the candles that are used in the headlight dim a bit, any ideas why that happens? Cant wait to use it through inter as it will keep my skills up for using on the Kwak. Next year i will be buying a Track bike to add to the Kwak and CG in the garage!! |

Yep, watch the speed, I had a 76 model and they will go bang in a nice cloud of blue smoke, also the rubber to where the carb meets the head joint can give up, let in water and then you have a dead bike. I think I even still have a cone airfilter for one in the shed, lol. But you will need to check and clean all your earths as it is old wiring, probably best run a nice new clean earth for yor lights.

Is that H as in 1990 or 1970?
Either way it should be in a museum. |

My only experience of CG 125s is that they have a really hard seat, probably made from either brick or concrete and they do crash easily in the wet. Good luck Neio, hope that you have lots of fun. :thumright: |
Re: My new (well old) Winter hack!!
I remember, when I was doing my lessons, racing the guy on the CG125 with my YBR125 down a dual carriageway. I was sat basically on the pillion seat (i'm 6'6) and tucked really, really far in, and I remember hearing this laughter over the radio from the instructor, and I looked over, there was the CG literally inching past me at about 66-7! Couldn't catch the little bugger, I think I'd have had to have shed about 5 stone first.
