DVLA will want to know the new engine number, that's it if you're not changing it for a bigger/smaller/different engine

I only told the DVLA when I did my engine swap, unless you've upped the CC's I dont think the insurance would be bothered

if you're not changing it for a different type of engine, different size, etc etc then as far as they're concerned it's the same bike, no modifications done, same as if you'd had a part replaced like a headlamp that got smashed

the only physical difference once you've transplanted will be that the engine number on the case won't match the V5, send off the old V5 with a covering letter explaining the situation to the DVLA and you should get it back no problems

Just tell the DVLA by completing the V5 and sending it in. As said, unless you are going to drop in another engine type of up the bore no one else needs to know by law.
