sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
It will be my 1st big bike.
What are the advantages of the SV650s over the er6? Also what are they like to ride? |
Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
I can't answer you on the better bike, I suggest you go take a few test rides if you are not sure what bike to opt for, it's personal preference at the end of the day and what you want out of the bike, and what you are going to use it for.
For me the Fazer and ER6 seating position is much better than my SVs, but if I had a SVn then I would be equally as happy, I am a short ar$e ya see. My SV was used for town and long runs and it was happy tootling around at 30mph as it was over what it should have been doing (LOL ;)). I don't think I will get bored of her and what she can do, it's much more above my riding capabilities. |

Both bikes are aimed at the same market, both are budget road bikes ideal for the new rider. As mentioned above a it is a personal preference, what may suit you, your needs and your riding style may not suit anyone else. You have to go out and test ride them, this is the only way this question can be answered. |
Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
If I had to do it again I'd get a ER6F, good seating position combined with fairing protection. Brakes and suspension are as cheap as each other.

Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
For me the SV650S is a far better looking bike than the er6n or er6f.
However, having now owned an SV S for over a year I'd ride an er first as I don't think the SV is a particularly easy, comfortable, or good handling bike to ride if you have to commute around town (rough roads) on it which I do. On the open smooth roads it's fine though. |
Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
I've owned an sv 650s k3 model & ridden my next door neighbours er6n(before he upgraded).
To be honest in performance there was'nt a great deal of difference although my sv had a few performance enhancing tweeks so was a bit quicker than the er6. In standard form there's really nothing to choose between them, both are around 70bhp & top out at around 130mph. Handling wise both are v,good, the er probably is a bit more comfy due to it's more upright riding position, although the sv feels better if your a rider who enjoys giving it some jip through the twistys as your more over the bike in a more racy riding position. As some have said, try & have go on both to decide which suits you best,i don't think you'd be dissapointed with either,but................... THE SV WINS HANDS DOWN FOR LOOKS,IMO well this is an sv forum & to say anything other would just be plain wrong...hth. |
Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
I would also say the SV sounds better.

Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
ER6 with a stubby underslung can sounds very, very good

Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
Previous bike was an SV, sold it as didn't get on with the riding position. Bought the ER6 as a 'while I decide what to get' bike, still got it 2 years on.
ER6 far more comfortable and easier to ride. Performance similar, though the SV is better with the low down grin inducing grunt. As razor says, ER6 with an underslung stubby sounds wonderful. |
Re: sv650s or kawasaki er 6 n?
I would imagine that the SV would be a lot easier to sell on in a few years.
