I have decided to take up golf
 

After missing out on loads of corporate hospitality surrounding golf, I have decided that it is high time I learned how to play. I have not got the first clue about golf, the last, first and only time I play was Pitch and Putt and got hammered by a 9 year old girl.

Anyone else play and how long does it take to learn the rules?

Seriously is that an offer to teach me then? I explained to someone at work that i wanted to play "in the nets, where you just whack the ball" and they said that was called a driving range. Great.

I think that is where i will start, not sure if you can just rock up there and just starting hitting the balls.

I am quite excited as I will get to go on lots of corporate golf days with a **** up afterwards. So far, I have been told I can be the caddy and I don't want that !

I have heard that too. But if it means a few days out of the office fully paid I think it is worth it.

Plus is nice to achieve something, right?

I too am missing several invitations to golf days cos I haven't a clue how to play. Many years ago I vowed I'd never pay golf but the world has moved on and I'm faced with ther reality that it's actually a good way to get clients.

So I'll learn with you, OK?

And we'll start a thread, 'The Golf Thread':p
