Afternoon all.

So my insurance will be renewed come December. What's making me wonder is that by that time I will be 25 with (fingers crossed) one year NCB.

Can I expect a nice chunk off the premium then?

work on the assumption that insurance is never gonna be as cheap as you'd like!

Remember that the NCD does not apply to the total premium, they often only apply the factor to certain risks. But the only way to know is to get the quotes.

My first insurance was a custom-grabber and on renewal was higher, despite having passed my test. I did some ringing around and found Devitt to be the cheapest and strangely with the same insurers, Red Star but astonished to find that the renewal was for TPFT and the New quote was for Fully Comp and only about 60p different. When I got my SV, I had to pay about £60 more......not due for insurance yet....actually need to check when it is!

I would do some ringing round within 30 days of renewal and be armed with some figures, if you dont like your renewal and they wont match a cheaper but like for like quote you have, then cancel the renewal as some companies just continue the cover with or without payment received and a couple of weeks later is too late as they would charge you to cancel!

Just spoke to a bloke at Carole Nash. Come renewal it'll be 355 quid TPFT with a 500 quid excess.

Full breakdown recovery throughout Europe as well.

Good premium, but is 500 quid excess a bit much when the bike is worth around 1500?

Yeah hence why there's no point claiming on that sort of value of bike.

what about excess protection? Mine was only £30 on a £350 excess.

And i'm 5 years younger and was only £200 more expensive on a bike worth 2k more.
