Electricky - I need to fiddle some things.

Two issues I want to sort out - Would appreciate any advice from those that have done similar or know were I need to start..

Firstly I want to short out the clutch microswitch, I've had this done before.. But it was due to having a buggered clutch lever after the bike rolled off its side stand... So it was just a quick fix job of a piece of wire in the terminals and then taping to the loom coming from that bar end.
But I'd rather a neater solution to this if possible.. So where should I be looking to short it from with regards to doing it 'inside' the bike.

The other is breaking the circuit/stopping the ******* parking lights from working..
Gave me a lovely flat battery today, and have narrowly avoided it before - Its just something that slips my mind in the morning sometimes.
So again, any advice on were to start on that?

No need to dumb it down for me either. Part of the job ;)
Thanks,
Mat

IIRC, the clutch is a "push to make" switch, so you could hide another switch in the bike somewhere (down behind the headstock where the connector is?) to override the clutch safety switch.

As for the parking lights... *pulls out haynes*...

When the ignition is on, the black/red from the main fuse is connected to the orange from the ignition barrel. The ground from the ignition barrel is connected to orange/white.

When the parking lights are on, this black/red is connected directly to the ground on the ignition barrel.

So... stop the black/red connecting to ground in the ignition barrel BUT don't stop the orange/white grounding. Fairly simple NOT arrangement.

NB: The black/red wire is the red one on the barrel side of the small connector.

NB2: I've had a fair amount of vino. Double check on the diagram.

Cut the wires, connect both of them together and tuck them out of the way. Done this to both mine and many other bikes.
