any point in buying a SS600 in London..?

I'm thinking about buying a GSXR/R6/CBRRR and thought Id ask the Soho riders as they can empathise with London riding.

The SV just doesnt float my boat. Can have big grins on it but for me a bike should get you excited when you open the garage door not just when youre hooning about and my bike seems a bit too middle of the road.... its just a bit dull.

Admittedly I'd never get the most from a SS600 as all my miles are inside the M25 but it may make me feel better!

Other option is KTM LC4 or Husky 510.....

Dont think I'll ever be satisfied.

what do you prefer riding?

i have an SV and had a ZX636, i would prefer riding the kwak to work even when the SV was all i needed, the SV on the other hand is a proper town hack

I had an 06 R6 which I rode in London a fair bit. TBH it gets quite frustrating as they heat up so quickly, that the fan would come on every set of traffic lights. Sportsbikes certainly don't like being cooped up in traffic. In the end I bought a Suzuki DR350 and used the R6 for it's main purpose i.e the track. DR was at the other end of the spectrum and completely awesome in town!

Have you taken a bravery pill tuna?! He he.

Street triple would get my vote. Or a C90 (How can one of those not make you grin?)

I reckon a modern sports 600 would get on your nerves after a while.

A c90 would be AWESOME. I'll get one, but only if everyone else does

If you like huskys look at 610's as they are that bit smaller than every other SM.

I've ridden the ZX6R J model through London for the last 3 years, just about every day. It's a little wide, the engine gets hot (nothing the Fan can't keep under control) and the steerings not all that light. It's a bit of work, but nothing un-doable. Having now resurrected the SV650S I have the choice of both on any given morning.

The SV seems to be lighter steering, slimmer, has nice foldy-in mirrors, and the motor's good in town. Also i just rebuilt it so there's some satisfaction in riding the thing, and if I get taken off again it cost less. Because of that I seem to find myself reaching for the SV's keys most mornings.

The ZX6R seems to use a little less fuel though, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

If you can only have one bike, have one that makes you grin and you'll put up with it being grumpy in it's un-natural habitat, I have done for years and never considered it a hardship!

TSM and Jambo have it spot on - whatever you prefer to ride.

I have a ZX6R and ride to work and back every day on it, as I did on the SV for a year. I feel a lot more comfortable on the kwak, so it gets my vote.
