SV wheelies

I am thinking about going three up on my rear sprockey to get more torque. Will this be better than a power comander?

Re: SV wheelies

You won't get more Torque by going three teeth up. You aren't changing anything in the engine. All your doing is making the rear sprocket larger and therefore the wheel easier to drive giving you faster acceleration at the expense of lower top speed.

You can wheelie an SV without changing the rear sprocket.

not from the engine, but the torque at the rear wheel will be increased because the radius from which the driving force from the chain acts has increased

it must be true, my computer says it so:

he has a point, the torque output is going to be the same but the driven wheel will get more torque as the gearing will be modified. like a low range box in a 4x4.

still would go for the power commander first and get more power as well.

i have 2 extra on the rear.....but was like it when i bought it so not got anything to compare it too.....guess this doesnt really help lol....#

dont think u lose a noticeable amount off the top end tho unless your in the habit of riding at 115+ mph everywhere....thats the point i stop and go back down to a gentle 90 to calm the voices in my head going "your a daddy now...dont be stupid....what if?" but its still pulling so although u will lose some....you may never notice it.....

If this is purely related to wheelies then u shudnt have a problem!!! what year is your sv tho? my mate has a k7 and i cant wheelie it as it has a really weird power delivery! at a guess i wud say the powercommander wud b better than the sproket (no experience with the sv in this) but the powercommander allows the engine to be re-mapped for more power so should in theory wheelie a bit easier!

Re: SV wheelies

Wheelies are about technique not about how much BHP you have. Also a power commander isnt going to give you massive BHP gains.

I could wheelie my SVS OK and that had standard gearing.

Re: SV wheelies

I had my ECU remapped, and the gains were more mid-randge than head lines, but you can only really hope for +2 or 3bhp.

you can get better gains by not eating lunch!*

*depending on the size of yor lunch
