How do you know when your front shock has had it
 

Hi again

For the last 2 days i noticed a single clunk or knock sound when ever i go over a biggish bump, Its nothing major its just annoying me now.
How do check this out.

They all do that sir.

Pretty much every SV I have ridden did that and theres no general consensus as to what causes it. Mine used to sound like it was coming from behind the clocks ( K1 SVS ) on Liz's ( K5 SVS ) it clunks but sounds different than my curvey used to.

I gave up worrying about it along time ago. But if you wanted to be thorough then checking your head race bearings are done up correctly would be a good place to start.

Check your bearings.....buy a compass.:smt047 Sit on your bike, hold the front brake on and rock your bike forwards and backwards, if it's your bearings you should feel the play.

Your forks might be just bottoming or topping out as you go over a bump, with could be an issue with the springs or oil quality.

Just rebuild my forks......I used Bitubo Linear Springs, (shorter and stronger than the originals and come with the correct length spacers) and 15w oil. What a dirrerence:smt026. It's easy for any home mechanic, the only issue is supporting your bike with the front end off.
