Night ride.

Felt a bit crappy all day, so finding out a mate had tomorrow(today now) off this evening we arranged to got for a blat at quarter to twelve.

Just back in, brilliant, it was clear, dry and someone had turned the traffic option off.

Although he's got a RSV (the older one) he's not as used to riding in the dark, arround town with street lighting he's a bit quicker than me, but get on the unlit country stuff and it's a different story altogether ......;)

all good fun.

Cheers Mark.

Always is late at night, sometimes when I do it I see no traffic at all and is very good. Night rides are something I do enjoy :)

I like very early morning (4.30ish) too in the summer. No traffic, but you have the benefit of being able to see almost as well as day.

Not a huge fan of pitch blackness riding, on the SV my headlights were rubbish.....but I also have crap night vision and wear glasses which reflect everything.

+1.........Cat & Fiddle/A54 Loop at 5.30am is one of my defining motorcycle moments at the moment.

Completely clear, sun rising, slight mist at the bottom of valleys..........nothing else on the road = amazing.

The dark scares me on the SV... but then the lights are awful.

I never thought I'd enjoy riding on the bike in the dark but since YC's got his floodlight tis almost as good as day hehehe. Lights up everything!

Oh I think you're all missing the point, to me that's part of the attraction, no distractions, riding to the leading edge of the headlights, it doesn't have to actually be fast, just fast enough to require full consentration, so crap lights means you get that at slower speeds, mind you the T'bird has a brilliant 8" round headlamp so requires slightly more to get the same effect.

Cheers Mark.

On the Mway it's just dull. Except maybe on the '62 towards hull where there's no lights at all, that's a bit wierd.

The HID lights are awesome, very different sort of concentration needed to daylight riding still though, needs a total rewire of the brain.

I love night riding and enjoy winters apart from the road salt.
Always feels like your going faster and can be enjoyable.
