polished frame
 

ive been considering having my bike frame and swingarm rear sets rear hangers, wheels ,top yokes and forks all polished.

has anybody seen an sv with all this done and if so did it look good?

what are the pros and cons of having this done

pros - It would be pretty unique. It would be nice and shiny so car drivers might notice you and not crash in to you. Your right arm would become very strong

cons - It would take forever and lots of effort. I think it might look a bit tacky. You'd probably have to keep polishing it until the end of time. You would need to take out a loan for all the autosol you will need. You would need to give up biking so that you could polish your bike all the time

never seen frame or swingarm done. Both mine have the forks, rims and rear seat hangers done. Looks fine if you do it right. I remember Lissa wanting to the swingarm on their bike, but its anodised and IMO would be so much effort to be then covered in chain oil. I think the frame would look pants too, but it would be your taste not mine.
Once the other bits are polished it needs a little more effort to keep them shiny (especially the hangers, they don't like being polished for long) the forks and wheel rims are a doddle.
Not seen a top yoke polished, but I do have a custom yoke for one of mine which looks the dogs danglies:cool:

I've seen a curvey with a polished frame, and against what's already been said I thought it looked pretty smart and looked quite trick, it was this one

We knew a guy who'd had his Gixxer frame professionally polished. He reckoned it never needed polishing just cleaning like the frame does now.

Think the frame would look lurvely gleaming .:smt049

I'd been thinking of doing something similar, but I can't decide which would be better.

I've got a spare swinging arm from Evil bay, and I'm either going to polish the whole thing, ends and all. Or I was going to have it powder coated in a satin black (not glossy or matt) and polish the end caps and maybe crome the torque arm or powder coat it silver.

I've got stainless plates where the spindle goes, plus a stainless spindle nut. So that would look nice in contrast.

Powder coating is the easier option, and I'm not sure if I've got the time to spend polishing the arm.

I've seen a RG250 or RG500 with a polished frame & swinging arm, and it looks great.

I seem to recall an yellow SV in streetfighters mag, a couple of years ago.....its what started my shiny fetish:smt049.Although I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one...I may be mistaken though:smt017

Our YPVS has the swingarm off the RGV....its very banana and its mirror shiny...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm:cool:

That yellow thing is nasty. What's the point of all that then leaving all performance modifications out of it. Bleugh.

Only one I'd consider polishing if I could afford one would be an izax frame.... nom nom nom
