curvy screens vs wind noise

My curvy sv650s came with a Givi spoiler screen

and I'm finding it really noisy at 100km/h, I think there must be a lot of turbulence off the screen hitting my head. If I duck down behind it, it's still noisy. But if I stand on the pegs with my head well above the screen it's significantly quieter, no pounding rumble from turbulence.

Is the stock screen quieter?

My other bike is a naked bandit 400 and I think it's quieter. I'm not worried about wind protection. I wear earplugs, the foam 3M ones. I might also look into getting moulded earplugs, the noise from the screen is spoiling my enjoyment somewhat.

Its the turbulence of the passing air hitting the still air behind the screen, that screen is tall so it will have more still air than an OEM of D/B screen behind it.

+1 for dd. I don't have too much trouble with my DB screen on my curvy and it's got a piece missing from the side.
