Would you honestly buy anything called a 'turbulator' ?

Re: "TURBULATOR" for 1st Gen. Carbs
I thought the general idea was to get rid of rough casting marks and smooth out the inlet tracts to reduce turbulence to get the maximum flow into the combustion chamber.
But I do remember that on the BSA Gold Star 500 you were supposed to leave the step between carburettor and head or you would loose out on power due to loss of turbulence, just might be an old urban myth though. If it was any good the bike manufactures would already using it. |

Re: "TURBULATOR" for 1st Gen. Carbs
Some older Suzuki four-valves, fitted with Mikuni carbs, had a gauze/mesh type thing fitted into the carb mouth, apparently the same effect was intended. I note they're on a page titled Mikuni parts, tools etc - are these actual Mikuni parts? If they are I'd be less sceptical, Mikuni know what they're doing so these bits may well have a purpose, although that page isn't written by Mikuni so it might not be what's being claimed there.

On the other note AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Its bobbins. The theory is sound but this is done in the inlet tract and cylinderhead. A better "swirl" improves torque. However that thing will do bugger all for your bike. prove it does and ill happily show my ass in the town centre! Although dont be ashamed of asking. Some people will ahve bought it! laugh at them instead :) |
Re: "TURBULATOR" for 1st Gen. Carbs
Nope it's boswallox. You get plenty swirl around the valves and in combustion chamber. You can get a couple of bhp with mild porting, never mind restricting the inlets.
