Suspension

I've got a SK6 now and used to, well still do have a SK1.

On my old bike I replaced the springs and oil which made it handle allot better.

I weigh about 14.5st.

I was wondering what others have done regarding suspension set up?

Stick some hagon progressives or maxton/ohlins linear ones in

Re: Suspension

Matris fork internals and a Nitron rear shock here. Fitted it myself, cost about £600 all in. Declared to insurance and doesn't add anything to my premium. Worth every penny IMO.

Yup excellent way to do it. OP doesn't say how much he wishes to spend....

How much were the Matris internals? Racetech springs and Gold valve emulators came out at about £200+P&P for me.

and you were sucking your teeth about me spending that sort of brass on maxton kit? :D (OK ABS gubbins means I need a remote pre-load adjustor which adds £120)

As for OP - I think one option not covered would be a GSX-R front end to give better suspension. I think you need to give the guru's on here a guide to how much you want to spend and how handy you are with spanners to get more help.

Yeah it's still going to sting a bit isn't it though!

I never said it was a bad idea... still sodding expensive.

£277 including P&P. Worth it in itself, but if £600 is too much, you're over 2/3rds of the way towards a Nitron rear shock at that sort of money and the shock makes a bigger difference in my experience. If I had a budget of around £450, I'd go for a Nitron rear shock and new fork springs/oil, rather than new fork internals and a ZX-6R shock/similar.
