Best exhausts...

What is the best race exhaust for an SV, 1st generation?

M4 race ? Yoshi makes a "full" system for the SV, is that any good or...?

yoshi is the top end of the zorsts if you can fund a full system, dont exspect big power gains tho.

In my SV tuning experience for a heavily tuned SV engine an M4 is the one to get, with a lower state of tune a Yoshi/Akra/Hindle would be a good choice.

Yoshi and Akra are IMO just not good enough for the SV, it's annoying, they both can make great exhausts so there's no excuse to make shoddy ones. They're no better than Hindle and cost, what, twice as much?

M4 are good. Leo Vince have a great rep from over the pond, a lot of the US tuners have dropped M4 now (M4 seem to have moved a bit towards cosmetically pleasing exhausts instead of performance ones). Arrow got some very good comments with their full system, apparently designed specifically for low-tune SVs with an eye to minitwins and the US limited tuning classes. The dyno curves I've seen show them slightly down on power on an M4 but with much better low end.

I use M4 and my team mate uses a hindle and we get similar results.

There is no real discernable difference between these exhausts they all flow the gases well over the stock tubes and provide added BHP when set up correctly. Having tested all these extensively at Warwick University gas flow lab I would choose the set which suits your pocket. Their main advantage is less bulk and weight so buy as light as you can.

+ 1, I assume they were tested on a running engine too? Akrapovic and Yoshimura will tell you they get different results between a flow bench and a running engine.

There is no way a Micron and M4 pass they same gas, fit them to an SV and test it and you will see.
