Pointy brake service.
 

I have trawled about for tips on this job but they are spread about a bit.
I've had a look at mine; k3 with 10k on clock.
I've had a quick look at things and some of the pins are scary tight.
Its all working but I feel the need to service both ends and make sure things dont seize up altogether.
A walk through would be cool :)

Pointy is easier than curvy due to only having a single piston rear caliper. Mounted where it gets less carp on it.

I'll walk you through it later. I'm tired. Though I have told people how before... try some searching.

or just tip up to yc's with enough for a few beers then wait till he wakes up with a hangover it worked for me :smt040 actually its easy he explained what he was doing while working on mine and if he could get a thick paddy to get it your on easy street

I'd quite like to have a crack at it meself tbh.
Think I'll get off me bum and get a HBOL for a start.
I just had a little go at a couple of the threaded in pins and they are *tight* so was wondering what the tricks are if any and if there are any othe bits further into the dismantling that are horrible to remove.

Front pad retaining pins? Not threaded, just an R clip holding them in

No the back brake 'mounting pin' mostly.
The one with the little cover screw hiding the allen key head.
Its so tight I'm sure it will go round if I strain any more.
I've applied some oil to it to see what happens.
All the bolts holdingthe calipers to the bike seem to be very tight as well but at least they are a bit meatier.
Haven't looked at the one with the r clip yet.
What I have got my hands on is a proper suzuki sv650s service manual for pointies which is very handy looking :)

allen key and a hammer should do it. Did you cach your hand undoing the bigger bolts on the end can?

You mean thum..er carefully tap the allen key while its in the socket to shock the bolt before or while turning it?
I havent actually taken the other bolts off yet. Its been a sort of exploratory for doing them next week :)

Both. I got stainless allen bolt kit on my engine casings and they required a tap to help undo them. Or failing that thicker gloves for more leverage.
